Hi,
I would like to know if there is a limit on how many dives a day you can do while scuba diving?
Hi,
Thanks for the question. I guess technically there is not a limit on the number of times you can go scuba diving in one day. Meaning, there is nothing saying that you can only do 5 dives or 6 dives, etc. in one day.
What limits the number of dives you can do SAFELY in one day is your nitrogen intake. And that is a function of:
- how deep you have gone
- how long you have stayed down
- how long you waited in between dives
- how many dives you had done previously in the day and
- how many dives you had done in the preceding days (residual nitrogen)
(For more information on this see our page on scuba diving bends).
So there is not really one answer to your question.
To give you some idea, however, on a dedicated dive trip two dives in the morning, two dives in the afternoon and a night dive is not unusual. Depending on the dive profile, one may be able to fit another dive or dives in. It really is all a matter of each individual and their dive profile.
Hope this has helped you. Thanks for the question.
Dianne
